Sharing Yoga In the community

ABOUT

About

I created Sea Crest Yoga Space in 2016, originally named after our property on the Northwest Coast of Tasmania, at Table Cape, "Sea Crest" where it all started with volunteer classes in a small space in my home.

The idea of Sea Crest Yoga Space was duly created not only to compliment & pay gratitude to the amazing & peaceful place I live, but also the enormous gratitude & respect I now feel for yoga & my newfound passion to share this amazing & rewarding practice.

When I was first introduced to Yoga, never did I imagine yoga would give me the tools to navigate daily life. I started my yoga journey in a difficult part of my life & I am forever grateful for the opportunity & the people that helped me, but also to those that continue to show up.

When I started, I felt so inspired & I immediately feel in love with the amazing benefits I felt in myself, that I just wanted to share my newfound passion & pay forward the gift that was given to me.  Sea Crest Yoga space offers Mobile Yoga classes in various spaces & Halls in the Community, Adults yoga classes, private classes.

The classes cater for anyone wanting to gain a little insight into the values and benefits of yoga, based on my perspective & how it can support us in our day-to-day life. It is an opportunity to explore the entire body, starting with the breath, allowing the brain a little time to rest, as we explore the body with postures (creative positions), that assist us to maintain freedom and strength as we age... It's an opportunity to cultivate respect, kindness & compassion to ourselves, meeting us where we are at. Every day is different and regardless of the style, yoga aims to calm the reactivity of our mind.  It will challenge you, however in each challenge it offers us welcomed support and the comfort of knowing that we are safe. It leaves us feeling rested yet energized and most often will have you returning for more, whilst possibly not really understanding why at the beginning, but after a while we start to understand.

Please note, I do not consider myself a teacher, I just enjoy sharing. I ask that you allow the experience to be the teacher (whatever that maybe for you). We need to learn to be our own best teacher, as we have the best perspective of what our bodies need, we just have to remember to listen.

CLASSES

The practice of Yoga doesn't discriminate in any way whatsoever. Yoga doesn't ask us to be flexible in the physical body, it really only requires us to be a little flexible in the mind, so regardless of size, shape, gender, age, race or skill level, yoga is a practice accessible to those that are ready and willing to try it. Don’t let self-doubt prevent you from trying.  Yoga is a little like the waves of the ocean,  they change everyday, just as there  are many styles of yoga, available, that’ll satisfy whatever it is you’re looking for: core strength, flexibility, mindfulness and meditation, etc. Work at your own pace and in time, you’ll find what yoga practice resonates with you, just like what waves we want to ride, so we take what you need and the rest is ok to leave behind.

"There is something about the water- that solitary kind of peaceful feeling, you’re on earth but not quiet" -John C. Reilly

TESTIMONIAL

Your body isn’t the only thing that gets to be more flexible.
